Who’s who at Hoppecke Industrial Batteries

Jason Howlett – Managing Director

Headhunted by Hoppecke in late 2015, Jason Howlett has decades of experience operating at the highest levels of service, engineering and manufacturing.

His passion is delivering the best possible standards of customer service and helping his team reach their goals. Jason has significant skills in sales and operational management, business expansion and long-term strategy development. He also has many years of experience in the construction, supply chain and logistics sectors and has specialised in mining and quarrying, materials handling, and waste management.

Among the positions Jason has held before joining Hoppecke are Divisional Director for the world’s largest Caterpillar dealership and COO of a company that manufactured security screening and border control equipment.


Stuart Browne – Service Director

Stuart Browne’s main focus at Hoppecke is to support customers and enable them to get the very best out of the products that they use. With 20 years of experience in field operations management, Stuart has worked with such leading names as De La Rue and Jungheinrich.


Gus Whyte – Sales Director

Gus has worked in motive power for 38 years and has extensive experience in the technology and sales of motive power batteries, chargers, battery changing systems, and electronic management systems.


Dave Summerfield – Director of Business Development UK and International Key Accounts Germany

Dave has been in the battery business since 2005 and has looked after some of the biggest original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the sector.


Natalie Bailey – Sales Administration Team Manager

Responsible for running the internal sales desk at Hoppecke UK, Natalie’s main role is liaising with customers to see through projects from production planning to delivery and completion of the order. Working for the company for nearly 12 years, Natalie was previously at Johnsons Controls Batteries.


Jane Bithell – Accountant

With Hoppecke for three years, Jane looks after all the financial aspects of the business – the full cash cycle that includes invoicing, purchasing, sales, and liaising with external auditors. Jane is also involved in developing business processes, looking after the budget, carrying out year-end filing and reporting accurate financial results. 


Justin Herriman – Operations and Supply Chain Manager

Joining Hoppecke UK in April 2016, Justin has a vast wealth of experience in business planning, having worked previously for B&M Retail where he was Planning Manager. Taking on a new role that was created to improve production processing and inventory control while ensuring forecasting requirements are met, Justin says he is ”enjoying the challenges” that the job entails.


Lynne Morris – Human Resources Manager

Lynne joined Hoppecke in the summer of 2016, bringing with her significant experience of working at very senior levels in a number of organisations, with particular skills in organisational development and transformational management. Lynne is a highly accomplished professional with significant strategic and operational experience spanning 20 years at director level in the public, private and ‘not for profit’ sectors. She also has excellent influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify pragmatic solutions, underpinned by logic, with sound judgement and extensive knowledge of human resources best practice across a wide range of related activities.
