Hoppecke appoints new chief for UK business

We’re delighted to announce that Jon Bailey has been appointed managing director of Hoppecke UK with a remit to pursue organic growth across the motive, special and reserve power sectors.

Bringing extensive experience in the battery industry to his new role, Jon will focus on delivering continued growth across all areas of our UK business through strategic partnerships with market leaders. He will also look to exploit the growth potential in the UK’s energy storage marketplace

Jon joins Hoppecke from Johnson Controls, where he spent 13 years in senior management in the power solutions division, most recently in country manager and regional director roles in the automotive aftermarket marketplace.

Capitalising on our investment in alternative chemistries to traditional lead acid, Jon will also be targeting development opportunities for new technologies. Although Lithium-Ion is becoming more understood, there is still a job to do to improve awareness of the benefits of new innovations.

Whilst Jon will be assessing the potential to introduce Hoppecke products and solutions into niche areas, especially the rail and reserve power sectors, it will be very much business as usual in the motive power arena.
